My design process

My design process always begins on paper. This is where I best figure out solutions.
Once I have my direction, I will draw it up in Illustrator for the basics. Mostly this will begin in black and white, especially for logo design. If it doesn’t work in black and white, it is unlikely to work in colour.

Avoid A to B thinking
THINGS I’VE LEARNED SO FAR - When we brainstorm an idea, we are inclined to go to the first thing that pops into our heads. Our brains are predictable. Often the idea is drawn from something that is top of mind or from our immediate surroundings. It is obvious and lazy.
We should become more aware of our surroundings. We tend to get into automatic mode in life. Try taking a different route...

Mutual & Federal Advert
Giant Films’ Robin Goode explores the rhythm of life for Mutual & Federal.
What a beautifully crafted advert. I did however feel disappointed and the anti-climax after viewing the entire piece, by not linking Mutual & Federal to it.
